Zelaya Jumps the Shark and Blames the Jews

By Cassandra Effect, September 24, 2009 6:19 pm

Ousted President Manuel Zelaya of Honduras has smuggled himself back into the country and is hiding in the Brazilian embassy.  He officially jumped the shark and is blaming the Jews among other things.   What says the United Nations to this?  Well, that wonderful Jew loving institution will convene on Friday to discuss the Honduran situation, and they have refused to help in the upcoming November elections.  With folks like Gaddafi and Ahmadinejad why am I not surprised…..

Mr. Zelaya is a frequent caller to the station and to others around the world, where he makes his own outrageous claims: Israeli commandos have been hired to kill him; he is being secretly poisoned by gas and radiation; Mr. Micheletti is preparing to storm the Brazilian Embassy. (NY Times)

Breaking – Zelaya in Honduras – hiding in Brazilian Embassy

By Cassandra Effect, September 21, 2009 4:27 pm

No word yet on how he snuck in…WSJ Report HERE

Elections are scheduled to be held on November 29th

Are we to believe that Manuel Zelaya wants to be President for the next 5 months?  Or is there a more sinister purpose here?    The US Constitution allows for Traitors to be executed – does the Honduran Constitution have a smilar provision?

Obama continues to screw the people of Honduras

By Cassandra Effect, September 12, 2009 9:30 pm

The US has no revoked the visa of Honduran Interim President Micheletti and several other high ranking officials.  More importantly, the US is saying:

U.S. officials say restoration of any of the terminated aid funds will depend on Honduras’ return to democratic, constitutional governance.

The interim government has scheduled elections for November, but U.S. officials say that, based on current conditions, Washington will not recognize the results. The U.S. State Department says a vote in Honduras must be conducted in a free, fair and transparent manner.

So lets me get this straight – Honduras Constitutionally ejects a Tyrannical leader and we punish them.  Iran holds an election with government pre-approved candidates and then rigs the election, the people revolt, and President Obama says “It’s not productive, given the history of U.S.-Iranian relations, to be seen as meddling — the U.S. President meddling in Iranian elections.”   Huh?

Hang in there Honduras - your elections are in less than two months – you can make it happen!

Zelaya skulks across Honduran border

By Cassandra Effect, July 24, 2009 9:27 pm

Today, evicted Honduran President Zelaya trittered across the Honduran-Nicaraguan border to test the interim Honduran government’s resolve in dealing with his treachery.  This type of move is designed to cause an overreaction by the Honduran military, with hope of causing injuries among his few rabid supporters.  Such an event would give his cause more power in the global media spotlight.   It is interesting to note that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton did not support this recent move – could it be because the US really does want him to go away but can’t say so publicly?  You betcha!

Clinton : “President Zelaya’s effort to reach the border is reckless. It does not contribute to the broader effort to restore democracy and constitutional order in the Honduras crisis,”

The president of the UN General Assembly, Nicaraguan Miguel D’Escoto, said on the Telesur network that Zelaya’s return attempt was “correct and heroic.”   D’Escoto also said that Zelaya should have extra days in office to make up for the days he was missing during his exile.

Why the Money Games with Honduras are Political Theater

By Cassandra Effect, July 20, 2009 7:36 pm

So the EU is going to withhold $90 Million and the US is withholding $20 Million.

The Honduran GDP is over $33 Billion in purchasing price parity and $13 Billion at the official exchange rate.

I am thinking they can handle a $100 Million pinch.

Zelaya – give it up – the world is only bleating your tune so they don’t look like they will uphold the people throwing off the yokes of the tyrant.  But they really won’t help you.  Well, – Maybe Chavez will….

The World tries to bully Honduras

Picture America during the Watergate crisis.  Now imagine if other countries tried to tell us what to do.  Imagine foreign countries withholding promised aid.  Imagine countries threatening you with war.  You would be thinking – hey – mind your own business and leave us alone!

This is exactly what is happening to Honduras.

Since the eviction of dictator-wanna-be Manuel Zelaya on June 28th, the ENTIRE world has objected, stammered and threatened the country of Honduras.

Why?  because crooked leaders of the world are TERRIFIED to imagine being tossed out of office for disobeyed their country’s Constitution.  If a country’s people are not willing to defend the basis of the RULE OF LAW in their nation, they are not worthy of the Freedoms that they are GIVING UP.

The Hondurans get it (even the new Foreign Minister who has yet to call Obama a “Little Black Man” )

Carlos Lopez, acting Honduran foreign minister and a member of the Micheletti delegation, told reporters yesterday that Arias’s proposals were “unacceptable.”

The mediation has been unable to understand that the intention to reinstate Zelaya goes against Honduran law,” he said. This “constitutes an open interference in the internal affairs of Honduras.”

A short list of the latest Bullying tactics being employed against Honduras:

US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton threatens unspecified  ”Consquences” if the Hondurans don’t negotiate with Zalaya

US suspends $20 Million in  military aid

EU suspends $90 Million in aid

Obama describes ejection of Honduran tyrant to be “Terrible Precedent”

Zalaya himself has announced that his “people” will begin an insurrection if he does not get reinstated.

And now today from Bloomberg

Costa Rican President and “Arbitrator” Oscar Arias says that if Honduras does not “compromise” over Zalaya that a CIVIL WAR will erupt.  His proposal?:

Arias proposed an amnesty for all parties, Zelaya’s return to power in a government that includes all political groups, presidential elections in October, an end to attempts to modify the constitution and the creation of an international commission to oversee implementation of the agreement.

Hang in there Hondurans – your November Elections are only a few months away  – stand tall and on principle

Honduran Foreign Minister calls Obama “little black man” and gets fired?

By Cassandra Effect, July 12, 2009 3:00 pm

The news wires are carrying stories with headlines saying that he has quit or been removed, but the REAL story is that Enrique Ortez Colindres was simply moved into ANOTHER government job!  That’s right folks – he is no longer the Foreign Minister, but he is now the Minister of Government and Justice!  Some punishment!

Chavez calls for Embargo of Honduras

By Cassandra Effect, July 10, 2009 2:00 pm

Reuters  is reporting:

Venezuela’s firebrand leader Chavez pronounced the Costa Rica talks “dead before they started”. He called for a total trade embargo on Honduras.

And filed under the category of No brainer, ousted Traitor President Zelaya has decided not to broadcast his tactics in advance any longer…the man’s a genius I tell ya!

The ousted president declined to reveal what other actions he planned, saying “I’m not going to tell my strategies to the press any more.” But unlike Chavez, Zelaya was full of praise for the Obama administration

So there you have it – Chavez knows this is going to go down against Zelaya and is positioning himself to benefit from that, while Obama, trying to make everyone happy, will ultimately look weak as he will have supported Zelaya and not achieved the “win”.  He of course will claim victory when the Hondurans have elections in a peaceful way without any bloodshed, yada, yada, yada.  but he will have been on the WRONG SIDE OF HISTORY in the decision that led to it.

Honduran Presidents Face off in Costa Rica

By Cassandra Effect, July 9, 2009 6:08 pm

Under intense international pressure, including the withholding of US foreign aid, Honduran  interim President Micheletti agreed to meet with an arbitrator, led by Costa Rican President Arias, and Ousted Honduran President Zelaya in Costa Rica.  Prior to the meeting Zelaya continued to demand that he be reinstated.  As it turned out, Micheletti met with a mediator only for an hour then left.   The shame of him being forced by the international community to kow tow to a Zelaya – the dictator that wasn’t must be difficult to swallow.  He did leave a team behind to continue talks.

Arias initially stated he hopes to reach a solution this weekend but now appears to be backing off this timeline – for me I hope that Micheletti drags it out long enough to hold the November elections and install again an elected leader.

Dear Leader Obama could not help himself backing yet another abortion of democracy when he said.  Newsflash  – Zelaya was found to be in VIOLATION of the Honduran Constitution by the Honduran SUPREME COURT.  This isn’t about liking a guy – this is about removing a tyrant.  Maybe this hits a little close to home to our country’s first Socialist President.  Read the Honduran FAQ at Reuters HERE

Obama has insisted that Zelaya be restored to power, but “not because we agree with him,” he told an audience in Russia. “We do so because we respect the universal principle that people should choose their own leaders, whether they are leaders we agree with or not.”

More from the AP  HERE

Zelaya was rumoured to have stated he would  be willing to use the ”Two Men Enter, One Man Leaves  – Thunderdome” option for settling the dispute.

Obama gives ousted Honduran leader cold shoulder

By Cassandra Effect, July 7, 2009 12:17 am

You heard it here first.  In yet another Obama administration reversal from an initially wrong diplomatic call, the White House has  begun to give ousted Honduran President Zelaya the cold shoulder.

He is returning to Washington DC after failing to land his Hugo Chavez provided plane.  However he will  only be allowed to meet with Secretary of State Clinton, not President Obama.   This is a major indication that Obama is rethinking his position on Honduras and allowing himself some room to move back toward the current government.  Can Mr. Obama ever get it right the first time?  his track record is not too good – he missed the call  on the Russian invasion of Georgia, the Iranian Revolution, and now Honduras.

Check out this different tone the US government is taking now….. (AP)

In Washington, a senior U.S. official said one option under consideration was trying to forge a compromise between Zelaya, Micheletti and the Honduran military under which the ousted president would be allowed to serve out his remaining six months in office with limited and clearly defined powers.

Zelaya, in return, would pledge to drop his aspirations for a constitutional change that would allow him to run for another term, said the official, who agreed to discuss the situation only if not quoted by name because of the sensitive nature of the diplomatic exchanges.

So far, the White House has called Zelaya’s ouster “not legal,” but it has not taken any steps to punish Honduras. More than $100 million in U.S. aid would be lost if the State Department officially classifies Zelaya’s ouster a “coup,” which would trigger an automatic suspension.

More evidence stems from the classic high level leak:

Another senior U.S. administration official expressed frustration with Zelaya, saying the ousted Honduran leader rejected advice from the United States and others not to press for the constitutional change and also not to try to return to Honduras on Sunday while the situation remained volatile.

and my personal favorite from a people who will not stand a TYRANT

If he returns, Zelaya faces arrest for 18 alleged criminal acts including treason and failing to implement more than 80 laws approved by Congress since he took office in 2006.

Chavez tries to provoke WAR with Honduras -and Obama helps!

By Cassandra Effect, July 5, 2009 3:42 pm

Hugo Chavez lent ousted Honduran criminal President Zelaya a Venezuelan flagged jet in his attempt to fly back to Honduras, even after the Honduran government stated they would not allow him to land in the country.

This was a patent attempt to create a Casus Belli and give Chavez the excuse he would need to send Venezuelan and even Nicaraguan troops in to restore the ousted Zelaya.

After bravely stating the “Blood of Christ Sustains me,” Zelaya backed down and his plane diverted to El Salvador.

The Honduran government bides its time with a statement offering to talk with the OAS – this is a play for time folks – Zelaya’s inertia will slow allowing the free people of Honduras to rid themselves of him through delay tactics with these lame world bodies.   From the Wall Street Journal:

We are waiting with open arms for any commission that wants to come,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Martha Lorena Alvarado de Casco. “The Republic of Honduras has told the OAS it is disposed to designate a commission to negotiate in good faith.”

Honduras’ influential Cardinal Oscar Rodriguez, the highest ranking Catholic Church official in the country, went on national television to urge the exiled president not to come back. “We think that a return to the country at this time could unleash a bloodbath in the country,” Cardinal Rodriguez said. “To this day, no Honduran has died. Please meditate because afterwards it would be too late.”

The prelate also criticized Mr. Zelaya, suggesting the Church was throwing its weight behind the provisional government. “The day of your swearing in, you clearly quoted the three commandments of the sacred law of God: Not to lie, not to steal, and not to kill,” said the Cardinal, who was seen as a leading candidate to succeed the late Pope John Paul II.

Even more disturbing, the Reuters is reporting that Zelaya will be returning to WASHINGTON for more “talks” if he is not allowed back into Honduras.  Why is Obama providing aid and comfort for a President who defies his country’s constitution and laws?  I will let you, Dear Reader, do the math one that one….

Breaking News: Evicted Honduran President Zelaya to be shot down?

AP News:  Zelaya tries to fly home today with the UN General Assembly President, and a left wing Nicaraguan Priest.

The government of Honduras has directed the military to ensure the plane does not land.

“The government of President (Roberto) Micheletti has ordered the armed forces and the police not to allow the entrance of any plane bringing the former leader,” the foreign minister of the interim government, Enrique Ortez, told The Associated Press on Sunday.

Brave Journalists fand other Latin American Presidents followed in a second plane flown under United States colors.

Several other planes were leaving Washington separately to avoid a direct confrontation, trailing Zelaya to see what happens in the skies over Honduras before deciding where to land. They include two planeloads of journalists and a group of Latin American presidents flying with the secretary-general of the Organization of American States.
